The nook when you first come in my from door. Used to be one of those stupid hall closets with just a shelf and a rd and no door...ick! |
The lovely flower arrangement from Max and Whit for my birthday. |

The formerly black couches. Actually the were formerly ugly blue and grey striped couches...with the cushions that are attached to the back and hang down...so those got cut off and made into big cushions...and oila... |
The newly reupholstered couches, gold chenille rather than black now. Also the cool new ottoman. It is about 3 feet in diameter. I got it for $40 rather than the $499 it was supposed to be as there are 2 cracks in the frame which I figure I can fix...well maybe a woodworky type friend will help. I did cut 5" off the height though as it was too tall for the couches before...and I did that all by myself...and it even seems level |

Once I recovered the couches and then got the ottoman the room was way too busy with the pattered chair covers. I tried dying them burgundy but they ended up a dark burgundy purple instead...so still too busy....they had to go. So a nice darker gold chenille to coordinate with the couches instead. New cushion covers tie in the two golds and the dark green which is also used as a cushion on the couch.

Back of the cool dining chairs...and they were free!!! Karma baby! |
Front of the cool dining chairs...and there were 6 of them!! |

Dave and Keith blocking the only picture I have of the arch...damn them! The arch and wall were built to hide the heater that will not die...and I have tried! Love the crown molding again. |
The arch into the kitchen...and more crown molding. Random friends once again blocking the view of the apartment. Oh yeah, and the halogen lighting. |
|
Bedroom paint job...not happy with it yet. More people helped in the painting of this room than any other room...4 of us...but sadly haven't figured out what I don't like about it. |
What kind of photojournalist is my brother when he doesn't even get one decent picture of my den...jeez... |

The new kitchen counter....did I mention...if you don't have time to do a job right do you have time to do it twice? Lorna did... but it worked about better this way caz she couldn't get the exact colour of green to redo the top so the front and side is a darker shade than the top, so it is subtle but cool. |
The new bathroom sink...with the floor and walls ripped apart. We won't mention that a year and a half later the floor is no closer to be finished? Editors Note: No longer the new sink caz the bathroom has been completely renovated...but then the new sink is also no longer the new sink as now I bught a new condo....

Here is my new door treatment. I didn't want the clear glass caz company didn't like being on view when they stay over. Didn't like curtains as that is not the point of a glass paned door. Tried the spray frosting stuff and it didn't like it. It didn't appear opaque enough and it splotched. Hadn't gotten the adhesive frosted plastic yet so I thought "why not use watered down craft glue and put on tissue paper just like we did with jars in elementary school. It has the right amount of glow come through. |
Close up of the door panel treatment. I wanted the creases to give it a cooler look. |
